📋 Description

• Design and deploy secure server clusters • Diagnose hardware and network connectivity problems • Facilitate critical infrastructure repairs • Manage Akamai's hardware assets • Coordinate efforts among locally based field technicians • Partner across teams to ensure product and service reliability, scalability, and usability • Travel regularly to datacenters to receive, deliver, install, and maintain hardware assets • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and monitor Layer 1, 2, and 3 network connectivity issues • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on deployment projects, network installations, and maintenance • Work with field technicians, ISPs, Akamai partners, and third-party client vendors • Monitor, triage, and resolve incoming maintenance tickets according to SLA targets • Maintain and exceed SLA targets to ensure system uptime and performance

🎯 Requirements

• 2 years of relevant experience • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field • Experience with Datacenter operations and protocols • Experience with network technologies • Experience with Security concepts • Experience with Unix/Linux internals • Experience with distributed systems • Experience with systems design • Solid organizational skills with proven experience in scheduling and operational planning • Ability to work efficiently under strict time constraints and adhere to procedural guidelines • Willingness to travel up to 60% domestically within the U.S. • Required to undergo or possess and maintain a successfully adjudicated USG Tier 3 background investigation • U.S. citizenship required • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds of equipment
