📋 Description

• Lead and oversee strategic Software Asset Management initiatives with broad organizational impact • Manage high-risk compliance programs and enterprise-impacting process improvements • Align SAM programs with enterprise objectives including cost containment, compliance readiness, operational efficiency, and measurable outcomes • Incorporate AI and automation technologies into SAM processes to reduce manual effort and improve license-management and compliance-reporting accuracy • Collaborate with Vendor Management, Sourcing, Security, Engineering, Legal, and Tech Finance to drive a unified license-compliance process • Facilitate executive-level steering committee meetings and provide data-driven insights on program progress, license risk, and outcomes • Build stakeholder relationships, influence priorities, and resolve conflicts • Provide strategic data and process insights to cross-functional teams • Mentor and develop team members and build organizational SAM expertise • Drive multiple SAM initiatives consistently with enterprise strategies and IT asset management objectives • Define and track KPIs for cost savings, compliance adherence, and license optimization • Leverage AI-driven analytics and reporting to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and provide actionable insights • Identify opportunities to enhance SAM tools, processes, and data integration • Establish playbooks, templates, and best practices to scale SAM capabilities • Act as a SAM thought leader and champion proactive, AI-enabled, results-driven program delivery

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years’ experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs, with a focus on Software Asset Management (SAM) • 7+ years of proven ability to deliver high-impact, multimillion-dollar programs • Deep knowledge of SAM principles, software lifecycle management, and software licensing models • Expert knowledge of FlexeraOne, including foundational back-end knowledge • Familiarity with major software vendors, both on-premises and cloud, including Oracle, Google, Azure, and AWS • Proven ability to manage software audits and ensure audit readiness • Executive stakeholder management, including briefing VP/CTO-level audiences and distilling complex data into executive narratives • Experience leading strong teams and catalyzing change across diverse teams • Technical background and understanding of core infrastructure and software development principles • Ability to build cross-functional relationships across Vendor Management, Security, Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, and HR • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills • Experience with AI/automation enablement, such as Azure OpenAI, GitHub Actions, and Power Automate • Proficiency defining and tracking program-success metrics • Ability to align SAM initiatives with cost containment, compliance, and digital transformation goals • Ability to influence executives, IT leaders, and business unit managers • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience (preferred) • Certifications in SAM tools or frameworks such as ITIL, CSAM, or FNMS (highly desirable) • Familiarity with discovery and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Wiz, Configuration Management, JAMF, and InTune • Experience implementing or managing cloud-based SAM processes for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud • Familiarity with a purple-team security mindset and the intersection of software governance and cyber risk
