• Navigate and resolve account challenges with tailored solutions • Build strategic territory plans aligned to shared priorities, product demand, and patient outcomes • Partner with territory teammates, field teams, and home-office colleagues to address customer needs and deliver access support • Analyze market, competitive, territory, and cross-functional dynamics to anticipate opportunities and challenges • Use territory data and market trends to uncover local insights and support pull-through efforts • Lead impactful customer engagements virtually and in person • Facilitate planning sessions with key stakeholders to solve complex challenges • Collaborate across functions to meet customer needs with urgency • Deliver real-time access support and coordinate with Patient Specialty Services • Use digital tools and omni-channel strategies to personalize outreach across virtual and face-to-face settings • Act as primary point of contact for accounts and healthcare providers • Build meaningful customer connections, identify shared priorities, and connect customers to Novartis resources • Balance demand generation with strategic account engagement • Improve patient outcomes through clinical and account-based selling, access navigation, problem-solving, team orchestration, and omni-channel engagement
• Bachelor’s degree required from a 4-year college or university • Experience within the last 5 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams, or comparable complex sales environments • Proven track record of consistent high performance • Experience navigating and selling to large accounts and key customers • Analytical ability to seek, prioritize, and apply relevant information to solve customer problems • Ethical leadership and ability to foster ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and laws • Candidate must reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border • Ability to travel 60–80% over a broad geography • Ability to drive and/or fly within the territory • Valid, fully valid, and unrestricted driver’s license required • Associate level: recently separated from the US Military with 4+ years of military service in a leadership capacity, or limited prior sales experience • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years’ experience in specialty pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, medical device, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, B2B sectors, or a similarly complex sales role within the last 5 years • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years’ experience in comparable sectors or sales roles within the last 5 years • Strong collaboration and cross-functional working ability in a matrix environment • Ability to communicate clinical product information effectively • Desirable: experience across therapeutic groups, disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches • Desirable: understanding of patient services, market access, buy and bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs • Must comply with customer credentialing guidelines for customer-facing roles, which may require COVID-19 vaccination • Novartis will not sponsor visas for this position
