• Design and perform stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 NSSS piping systems using Bentley AutoPIPE • Design and analyze ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping components using ANSYS • Design and analyze ASME BPVC Section III NF pipe supports using hand calculations or ANSYS • Perform static and dynamic analyses, including response spectrum and time-history analysis, for deadweight, thermal expansion, thermal gradients, seismic events, and fluid transients • Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation for NSSS piping components • Collaborate with drafters and review Siemens NX models • Lead evaluation of piping design solutions, including pipe reroutes and support reconfigurations, to satisfy stress criteria • Provide oversight and mentoring to early-career engineers • Work on complex tasks across multiple areas and interpret project scope and requirements • Acquire, maintain, and develop training qualifications • Perform other assigned duties
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university • Advanced degree preferred • PE License in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering desirable • Minimum of 8+ years of highly relevant, full-time engineering experience • Expert-level knowledge in design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III piping systems under NB, NC, or ND-3600 requirements • Experience with Bentley AutoPIPE desirable; similar code acceptable • Experience with ANSYS for ASME BPVC Section III piping components under NB-3200 preferred • Experience with ASME Section III NF preferred • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 • Understanding and implementation of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements • Ability to understand and communicate clearly using phones, personal interaction, and computers • Ability to learn new job functions and apply concepts accurately in a rapidly evolving environment • Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
