📋 Description

• Provide engineering and consulting services for transportation projects and clients • Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analyses, calculations, and recommendations • Design and develop plans and specifications • Observe and inspect construction for compliance with plans and specifications • Write, prepare, and review related reports • Prepare proposals and cost estimates • Track and evaluate project progress and budgets and recommend changes • Research and resolve design and construction problems • Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for reports • Communicate complex engineering issues to technical and non-technical clients and project teams • Develop site characterization reports describing geotechnical and geological conditions and project risks • Provide geotechnical recommendations for earthwork, bridge and wall foundations, and retaining walls • Perform external stability, settlement, and rotational stability analyses in accordance with code requirements • Lead team safety efforts and quality monitoring • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work • Provide technical direction for unique or complex projects • Manage design or investigative approaches for major transportation projects • Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks • Review complex investigations and technical reports • Coordinate financial management, invoicing, and collections with the lead project accountant • Lead technical training and mentor and coach project team members

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering • Minimum 8-11 years’ experience • Professional Engineer (PE) registration • Transportation experience with DOTs is required • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history • Ability to work remotely from anywhere within the US • Ability to manage all aspects of a geotechnical engineering project, including project teams • Project Management and/or technical leadership experience for large scale transportation projects preferred • Engineering analysis, calculations, recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications • Knowledge of external stability, settlement, and rotational stability analyses • Ability to identify geotechnical risks affecting design and construction costs or schedules
