Onward also operates Companion Rides, a Door-Through-Door℠ assisted rideshare service with trained Companion Drivers who provide door-through-door support for patients and riders, and builds and manages networks of transportation partners to reduce clinic no-shows, speed discharges, and cut transportation coordination time.

📋 Description

• Manage regulatory readiness for new-market launches from research through operational implementation • Identify company, driver, vehicle, training, screening, permitting, reporting, and other regulatory requirements • Translate regulatory requirements into operational processes, owners, controls, and timelines • Coordinate applications, approvals, registrations, permits, and launch requirements with cross-functional teams • Maintain launch-readiness plans and drive compliance workstreams, dependencies, and deadlines through completion • Identify compliance risks or launch blockers and escalate high-risk or legally sensitive matters • Ensure compliance documentation, approvals, permits, registrations, and launch dependencies are complete before go-live • Manage ongoing driver and vehicle compliance across active markets • Monitor expirations and recurring requirements and follow up with drivers and internal teams • Maintain accurate, audit-ready compliance records across markets • Improve compliance systems, controls, trackers, alerts, and workflows • Execute and maintain operational compliance programs with Legal and cross-functional teams • Manage regulatory filings, reports, registrations, renewals, permits, fees, and jurisdiction-specific obligations • Maintain a centralized regulatory calendar and audit-ready documentation • Coordinate regulatory, customer, partner, and program-specific audits • Identify compliance gaps and emerging risks, recommend operational solutions, and drive actions through completion • Track compliance issues through resolution and escalate higher-risk or ambiguous matters • Support new compliance processes as Onward enters markets, launches programs, or encounters new requirements • Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Recruiting, Product, Sales, Finance, company leadership, drivers, and external vendors

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in regulatory compliance, transportation compliance, healthcare compliance, safety/compliance operations, regulatory program management, or another regulated industry • Strong track record of hands-on compliance execution and program management • Experience across multiple states or jurisdictions is preferred • Familiarity with transportation, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments and the systems and vendors used to support compliance is a strong plus • Ability to read a regulation or agency requirement and translate it into a clear, repeatable operational process • Highly organized with strong attention to detail • Strong project management skills • Systems- and process-oriented approach, including workflows, controls, trackers, automation, and repeatability • Strong cross-functional influence across Operations, Recruiting, Legal, Product, drivers, and external vendors • Clear, plain-language communication with frontline operators, internal stakeholders, and regulators • Initiative and ability to solve messy, ambiguous problems • High integrity and strong risk awareness
