📋 Description

• Assist patients in managing out-of-pocket costs • Guide underinsured patients through pharmaceutical manufacturer and foundation assistance programs • Confirm proper enrollment in assistance programs • Negotiate copayment arrangements with patients • Retrieve payment methods, communicate with patients, and document information • Submit timely and accurate financial analyses and financial assistance options • Complete financial assistance reviews for patients receiving specialty therapies across new admissions, therapy changes, and additions to therapy • Understand contract terms and fee schedules for assistance requests • Generate and mail patient assistance enrollment forms and letters • Adhere to federal, state, and contractual copay assistance requirements • Liaise between billing, pharmacy, and nursing to resolve prescription refill assistance issues • Update patient information in software systems with agreement outcomes • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma • 3 years of relevant healthcare industry experience in admissions, verification, intake, billing/collections, or pharmacy • Excellent communication and negotiation skills • Caring and compassionate attitude • Ability to work cooperatively and liaise between departments • Proficiency with personal computers, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication • Working knowledge of medical and prescription insurance coverage • Understanding of insurance coverage gaps • Ability to research disease states online • Certified Pharmacy Technician state certification, registration, or licensure preferred
