• Provide overall tactical and strategic direction and management of projects through designated project managers • Ensure consistency of process across projects and internal and external customer satisfaction • Define and manage project scope in alignment with business objectives and customer expectations • Oversee project budgets and financial accountability • Allocate and manage resources across multiple projects • Manage project risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies • Act as the first escalation point for project issues • Interface regularly with customers alongside individual project managers • Communicate project progress and key risks or issues to stakeholders • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather and document requirements and drive decision-making • Manage project reporting deliverables and ensure Project Managers meet deadlines • Create or assist with project status presentations for stakeholders and leadership • Promote best practices and continuous improvement in project delivery • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams • Establish project management standards and governance structures • Oversee a portfolio of complex, cross-functional projects and programs supporting organizational goals and strategic priorities
• Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of leadership experience for Manager, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience • Bachelor's Degree and 8 or more years of leadership experience for Senior Manager, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience • Ability to pass a background and drug screening • Must have identification compliant with the Real ID Act at time of hire • Must be able to obtain Department of Energy PIV access badge • Advanced knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid frameworks • Knowledge of project governance, risk management, budget management, resource planning, and change management practices • Knowledge of strategic planning, business operations, and process improvement methodologies • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, Jira, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 applications • Knowledge of financial management principles, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control • Strong leadership and people management skills • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, competing demands, and complex projects • Effective negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to lead and oversee complex, cross-functional projects and programs • Ability to establish project management standards, governance structures, and best practices • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks • Ability to assess resource needs, allocate resources effectively, and optimize team performance • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities • Sufficient physical abilities to perform the stated job functions, including computer use, repetitive keyboarding, occasional bending/twisting, reaching, lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, and travel by vehicle or aircraft • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle • Must comply with federal regulations concerning controlled substances • Must successfully complete a federal background check investigation for the HSPD-12 PIV credential
