📋 Description

• Own, build, and operate a technically deep system requiring its own technical strategy • Help drive the technical specifications for the system • Make consequential decisions about what to build, scale, or kill on ambiguous problems and own the outcomes • Optimize the end-to-end system beyond the engineer’s ownership boundary • Influence, contribute, or escalate to pursue fixes in systems owned by others • Scope and build high-leverage solutions using a workforce of agents • Instrument shipped systems for adoption and usage and validate delivered value with data • Mentor engineers toward owning highly complex systems • Identify and mitigate engineering, security, data-loss, misuse, jailbreak, unintended-capability, and data-exposure risks before release • Lead discovery, spikes, prototypes, proofs of concept, and hardened production adoption of new techniques • Write documentation enabling other teams to consume systems without standing coordination meetings • Build and own evaluation and validation infrastructure for AI-assisted or AI-native systems • Monitor evolving state-of-the-art techniques and AI-specific vulnerability classes and ship appropriate production responses

🎯 Requirements

• Valid right to work in United States • Understand AI capabilities and limitations and apply that judgment in daily engineering decisions • Use enterprise-approved AI tools (Claude) as primary productivity accelerators across the full development lifecycle • Apply Pax8 data classification and privacy principles before sharing any data with AI systems • Practice responsible AI, recognizing and mitigating bias and upholding fairness and transparency requirements • Advanced prompting proficiency: multi-turn context setting, chain-of-thought elicitation, structured output enforcement, and iterative refinement • Build and own eval and validation infrastructure for AI-assisted or AI-native systems • Apply elevated scrutiny to agent-produced code within a highly complex system • Track state-of-the-art techniques and AI-specific vulnerability classes • Track record of being the de facto owner of an organization-dependent problem space, earned by building and running it • Experience mentoring other Frontier Engineers toward owning highly complex systems • Experience taking a technique from a paper or external source through prototype and proof of concept into a hardened, safety-reviewed production rollout
