📋 Description

• This position is responsible for coding interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology services in both Global and Professional settings. • The Coding Specialist abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records, charts and documents and assigns appropriate ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, MIPS codes and modifiers to patient records according to established procedures. • The specialist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field; relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of tasks; and works under general supervision. • This position typically reports to a supervisor or manager. • Accurately assign codes to medical procedures • Correctly assign and sequence codes per coding guidelines and insurance regulations • Follow medical coding guidelines and policies. • Identify and correct coding errors when found. • Notifies coding feedback to Coding Manager.

🎯 Requirements

• High school education or equivalent • 2 years previous radiology coding experience • One of the following coding certifications is required: CPC, RCC, or CCS. • Requires medical terminology experience or education • Computer operating systems experience current Windows version. • Computer software programs in Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to type and use a 10-key accurately • Requires at least 2 years' experience in coding or medical records using ICD and CPT coding systems. • Preferred Education and Experience RCCIR or CIRCC coding certificates
