📋 Description

• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems in coordination with network engineers • Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times • Perform systems security administration, including creating user profiles and accounts • Set up administrator accounts • Maintain system documentation • Tune system performance • Install system-wide software • Allocate mass storage space • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products • Recommend hardware and software purchases • Coordinate installations and provide backup recovery • Develop and monitor policies and standards for computing-resource allocation • Handle infrastructure certificate replacement • STIG-configure and patch components • Follow project plans for system migrations and software-release upgrades • Support production deployments and Test/MO support calls/JIRA on a rotational evening and weekend basis

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; minimum of 3 years with PhD • U.S. Citizenship • Ability to obtain Public Trust or higher (Secret, Top Secret clearance) • Current Security+ certification required • Hands-on UNIX operating system experience as a Systems Administrator; Solaris preferred, but any UNIX OS experience acceptable • Experience with system startup/shutdown, backups, vulnerability management, and COTS product upgrading/loading/troubleshooting • Ability to replace certificates in the infrastructure • Ability to STIG configure and patch all components • Ability to assist with procedural and technical documentation • Ability to follow project plans for system migrations and software release upgrades • Ability to work evening and weekend hours on a rotational basis for production deployments and support calls/JIRA for Test/MO help • UNIX System Administrator certification preferred • Experience with middleware products such as WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, Red Hat JBoss-EAP, and Java preferred • Experience supporting software developers in development environments • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills • Knowledge of UNIX and web-related security postures, skills, and best practices • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to on-site clients, non-technical management, and co-contractors • Understanding of application development lifecycle processes is a plus • Common office software skills (Word, Excel, Visio) • Familiarity with Department of Defense personnel security issues is a plus • Above-and-beyond familiarity with Hardware Security Module, Log4j2, audit logging, and key management
