📋 Description

• Serve as the legal partner for product teams • Own the company’s approach to healthcare regulation and privacy • Provide legal analysis and guidance on U.S. healthcare technology regulations, including HIPAA, state privacy laws, the Anti-Kickback Statute, OIG regulations, PhRMA codes, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, accessibility, and payments regulations • Develop a deep understanding of the business and products and advise on regulatory feasibility • Build expertise in payments, card processing, and financial services regulation • Partner with executive, product, engineering, marketing, and sales teams on regulatory requirements and execution • Develop processes that help teams execute efficiently based on legal guidance • Partner with the Chief Privacy Officer to protect patient data • Contribute to improving the Legal team and support colleagues

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience advising product and engineering teams on how to build and ship in a heavily regulated environment • Ability to learn new areas of law quickly and provide practical, defensible guidance • Creative problem-solving ability and comfort with ambiguity, complexity, and nuance • Excellent legal and business judgment • Ability to translate complex legal issues and risks into clear, understandable concepts • Ability to engage in healthy dialogue around risk and have assumptions challenged • Ability to build long-lasting professional relationships • Ability to work quickly and accurately • Effective written and live communication skills • Ability to operate effectively in a remote environment • Bachelor’s degree required • JD from a top-tier law school • 8+ years of healthcare regulatory experience across a combination of a top-tier law firm and in-house companies • Licensed to practice law in your state of residence • Substantial product counseling experience advising product teams on regulated products from concept through launch
