• Lead detailed system design activities, including system, data, process, and interface specifications • Translate requirements into architectural blueprints aligned with VA enterprise standards • Guide cloud-based development efforts and provide technical oversight of cloud projects • Apply SAFe methodologies in design, planning, and execution • Provide architecture and release planning support with VA Product Managers • Manage and maintain architecture documentation in VA-approved repositories • Support strategic planning, risk management, schedule development, and change/configuration management • Support requirements elicitation and traceability • Lead release planning activities and security architecture review • Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies • Coordinate with VA stakeholders to realign priorities and adjust delivery timelines • Draft and maintain technical documentation and deliverables • Support product management activities, feature prioritization, backlog grooming, and stakeholder engagement • Align project tasks with long-term product goals and VA mission needs • Lead change and configuration management tasks under VA policy and governance processes • Support schedule planning and progress tracking • Maintain and update Jira boards and dashboards and report tasks and metrics • Serve as the primary coordination point with the VA Product Manager • Prepare written documentation, presentations, and deliverables conveying complex technical and programmatic information • Research special topics and recommend solutions to government clients • Facilitate executive-level virtual meetings, including agendas, minutes, outcomes, and action items • Coordinate with the integrated PMO Support Team and share products, best practices, and information • Complete related duties assigned by the supervisor
• Bachelor’s degree • 5–10 years of relevant experience • IT project management experience focused on solution architecture • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or VA cloud environments • Strong experience implementing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices • Experience with enterprise architecture tools and repositories • Deep knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and release planning • Ability to manage multiple priorities and interface directly with senior government stakeholders • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Ability to self-organize, balance workload, complete tasks on time, proactively seek assignments, and offer improvements • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including talking and hearing • Ability to work productively in a fully remote environment • Ability to participate in virtual meetings throughout most of the workday and respond to MS Teams and MS Outlook messages within required timeframes • Ability to work Eastern time zone standard business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST • Ability to satisfy security clearance and onboarding requirements • Ability to travel at personal expense to the nearest government facility for fingerprinting, PIV badge application and pickup, and government equipment pickup • SAFe certification, such as SAFe Scrum Master or SAFe Agilist • PMP required • Experience as a federal contractor or employee preferred
