📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate Python backend services and RESTful APIs for managing clinical data • Evolve scalable clinical data models using FHIR and HL7 standards • Establish boundaries, ownership, and contracts across clinical data domains • Build and maintain batch and event-driven pipelines that ingest, transform, validate, and deliver clinical data • Implement automated validation, testing, reconciliation, and monitoring for data quality and reliability • Develop transformation layers and curated datasets for clinical reporting, operational analytics, product functionality, and AI use cases • Implement data documentation, lineage, provenance, versioning, retention, and auditability practices • Collaborate with clinical, product, application engineering, architecture, data analytics, and AI teams • Lead design discussions, contribute to architectural decisions, review implementations, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards

🎯 Requirements

• 6–8 years of software engineering experience, including ownership of production services and databases • Strong experience building production Python applications and APIs using FastAPI, Django, or Flask • Experience designing and operating scalable ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines using batch, streaming, or event-driven patterns • Hands-on experience with clinical or healthcare data • Strong understanding of FHIR resources, HL7 standards, terminology, and interoperability challenges • Experience designing normalized, dimensional, and domain-oriented data models • Ability to independently lead complex initiatives, make sound technical decisions, and balance short-term delivery with long-term maintainability • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require employer sponsorship for a work visa, current or future • Successful candidates must undergo a background check • Nice to have: experience with FHIR servers, clinical data repositories, electronic health record systems, or medical imaging and reporting workflows • Nice to have: familiarity with SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, or DICOM • Nice to have: experience with cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and clinical reporting or AI-enabled healthcare products
