Primordial Labs is an autonomy company that builds natural-language human-machine interfaces and edge-deployable autonomy software (branded Anura) for defense and national security customers. The team combines engineers and former special operators to rapidly prototype and deploy AI-driven, NLP-enabled systems that can run on constrained edge hardware — including drones and other fielded platforms. Primordial Labs operates as a distributed, fully remote company focused on delivering practical autonomy and mission-focused solutions for warfighters.

📋 Description

• Build simulation, bench, and CI capability that qualifies builds before field deployment • Extend test infrastructure and establish software- and hardware-in-the-loop capability against representative hardware • Own evaluation sets and adversarial suites • Measure accuracy under degraded conditions and verify intended end-to-end behavior • Execute test cards on live hardware, including safety-relevant behavior • Decide whether observed test results count as a pass • Convert range data into replayable regression cases and evaluation additions • Produce evidence that a build and configuration is flight-ready • Write code, build tools, run tests, and identify failure conditions • Collaborate with engineering teams that own fixes in the NLP and autonomy stack

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in test engineering, test automation, systems test, ML evaluation, or a comparable role • Strong proficiency in Python • Comfort in Linux • Hands-on experience with CI • Demonstrated depth in at least one of test automation, hardware and bench test, ML evaluation, or platform test • Willingness to travel to test ranges and customer sites • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience • U.S. Citizenship required • Current residency within the United States required • Permanent Residency (Green Card status) or visa sponsorship cannot satisfy these requirements • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance • Part 107 or experience as a safety operator on small UAS is a nice-to-have • Robotics, unmanned systems, or autonomy test experience is a nice-to-have • Defense test and evaluation experience, including test plans and government deliverable reporting, is a nice-to-have • Experience testing systems with ML components is a nice-to-have
