📋 Description
• Analyze insurance and patient credit balances to determine root causes and resolve accounts • Contact payers and make inquiries regarding account status • Escalate problem accounts • Document billing activity on patient accounts according to departmental guidelines • Ensure compliance with billing regulations and report suspected compliance issues • Document account indicators and activities for tracking, trending, and further analysis • Maintain compliance with privacy, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements • Participate in general or special assignments and required training • Follow Prisma Health policies, procedures, and payer guidance • Perform other duties as assigned
🎯 Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma / highest degree earned • Two (2) years of billing, bookkeeping, or accounting experience • Knowledge of functions required for Denial/Appeals Specialist, Payment Research Specialist, and Quality Assurance Specialist roles • Knowledge of privacy, HIPAA, billing, and regulatory requirements • Compliance with Prisma Health policies and payer guidance
