📋 Description

• Architect and evolve backend systems using Scala, Play, Postgres, and AWS • Design and deploy scalable APIs and AI-assisted services • Own feature development end to end, from ideation through production • Build frontend features with React, Chakra, Storybook, and modern state tools • Develop and maintain agent-driven development workflows • Use Claude Code and Codex to accelerate implementation, debugging, and refactoring across parallel sessions • Create internal tooling, prompts, and engineering systems to improve velocity and code quality • Optimize performance across frontend, backend, and AI-assisted pipelines • Define best practices for AI-native software development • Eventually lead a small team of 2–3 engineers and shape their AI-enabled workflows • Help architect and evolve Process Street into an AI-native product and engineering organization • Work within six-week Shape Up cycles and two-week cooldowns • Collaborate asynchronously and autonomously in a remote, low-meeting culture

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience • Strong experience with backend systems, especially Scala; Java, Ruby, or C# also accepted • Strong experience with JavaScript and React • Experience building and scaling SaaS products • Deep familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor • Comfort working across multi-session, agent-driven workflows • Strong judgment about when to use AI versus manual implementation • Experience designing systems, not just implementing features • Excellent written communication • Live in a timezone between UTC−6 and UTC+2 • Experience or experimentation with custom LLM development workflows • Experience or experimentation with internal engineering tools, prompts, or skills • Experience or experimentation with agent-like systems operating across files, repositories, or tasks • Familiarity with Scala 3, Play 3, Postgres, Redis, React, Redux, React Query, Chakra, XState, AWS, Docker, or CircleCI is relevant to the technology stack
