📋 Description

• Prepare detailed conceptual, design, and construction cost estimates for federal building projects • Review construction drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs • Develop independent government estimates (IGEs) and support budget planning activities • Analyze contractor bids, change orders, and cost proposals for reasonableness • Utilize industry estimating databases such as RSMeans and other estimating software • Prepare cost reports, estimate narratives, and supporting documentation • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and government clients throughout project development • Identify cost risks, escalation factors, and value engineering opportunities • Maintain current knowledge of federal construction standards, procurement practices, and market pricing

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical field • Minimum of 5 years of professional electrical estimating experience supporting commercial, institutional, or federal construction projects • Experience preparing detailed electrical estimates for vertical building construction projects • Strong understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, and low-voltage systems • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite • Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship • Preferred: Experience supporting federal government construction projects • Preferred: Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat, Uniformat, and federal cost estimating practices • Preferred: Experience preparing Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) • Preferred: Familiarity with RSMeans, CostWorks, Success Estimator, MII, or similar estimating platforms • Professional certifications such as AACE, ASPE, CPE, CCP, or PMP are a plus
