📋 Description

• Provide direct handling of the organization's Employment Practice Liability claims • Evaluate and resolve coverage issues for Employment Practices claims • Investigate claims through telephone, written correspondence, and/or personal contact with attorneys, business partners, witnesses, and other relevant parties • Present claims and claim trends to Claim and Legal Leadership, including coverage, liability assessment, and ultimate exposure • Analyze information to evaluate assigned claims and determine organizational exposure • Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims with defense counsel within provided authority, using appropriate denials or releases • Provide required reports to leadership, claims, reinsurance, and legal on significant exposure cases • Report timely on cases proceeding to trial and attend portions of trials when warranted or requested • Ensure proper referrals and timely updates to reinsurers • Collaborate with business partners and defense counsel to direct litigation activities and claim outcomes • Provide insight and thought leadership to business partners, including HR, regarding avoidance and mitigation of EPL risks • Travel may be required to mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, trials, training, or other proceedings • Carry out duties in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Law, HR, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • 10 or more years of employment law, risk management, or insurance experience related to employment practices • Background handling EPL claims as a claim professional and/or defending EPL claims as an attorney • Superior communication, strategic negotiation, claim disposition, and problem-solving skills • Excellent presentation skills • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint • Sufficient keyboarding proficiency to enter data accurately and efficiently • Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile
