• Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with payer stakeholders, including health plans, PBMs, and Medicaid organizations • Deliver and potentially develop fair-balanced, objective clinical and scientific presentations to payers • Support reimbursement readiness by identifying payer-relevant evidence gaps and informing RWE needs • Translate clinical evidence into payer-relevant context in partnership with internal stakeholders • Capture, synthesize, and communicate US payer insights to internal stakeholders • Lead and coordinate development, maintenance, and governance of US payer scientific decks and supporting materials • Maintain Letters of Medical Necessity and related templates/resources • Collaborate with Market Access, HEOR/RWE, and Medical teams on payer-facing narratives and evidence • Develop and deliver training and updates for internal teams on payer materials and landscape insights • Establish processes for disseminating payer material updates and payer learnings • Mentor junior team members • Support adherence to regulatory requirements and company SOPs
• Advanced scientific degree: PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP, MSN, or MS • 5+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison • Experience supporting an orphan product and/or clinical experience in inborn errors of metabolism, genetics, or rare diseases • Experience in Phenylketonuria preferred • Experience supporting high-cost products distributed through specialty pharmacy with patient access coordination • Hands-on experience working with KOLs, clinicians, HCPs, and payers • Ability to deliver fair-balanced presentations to payer audiences and translate complex clinical data into payer-relevant communication • Experience gathering and synthesizing payer insights from plans, PBMs, and Medicaid • Working understanding of RWE and HEOR concepts • Excellent verbal and written communication, scientific/technical writing, and presentation skills • Experience interpreting scientific data and presenting research information to scientists and HCPs • Ability to present at local, regional, and national conferences • Experience developing and conducting training sessions • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, organization, and time-management skills • Understanding of the pharmaceutical delivery process and compliant industry practices • Experience supporting or leading projects aligned to US Medical strategy • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment • Valid driver's license • Personal automobile with active vehicle insurance • Ability to travel daily to and from customer accounts and drive or fly long distances • Ability to undertake required overnight and weekend travel • Ability to enter hospitals and medical facilities and meet vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background checks, and proof of immunization • Willingness to travel 50–60% • Candidates sought in the East and Central time zones
