📋 Description

• Deploy and manage large-scale distributed systems • Ensure system performance, availability, and scalability • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of Hadoop ecosystems including HDFS, Yarn, Hive, and Spark • Manage Kafka clusters • Implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies for Hadoop and Kafka environments • Perform resource allocation, cluster optimization, performance tuning, and monitoring • Handle data pipeline orchestration and integration between Kafka producers, consumers, and downstream processing frameworks • Ensure data security through encryption, access control, and auditing mechanisms • Troubleshoot and resolve cluster health, data loss, Kafka offset, connectivity, performance degradation, and system failure issues • Automate repetitive tasks using Ansible and shell scripting • Collaborate with development, data engineering, and analytics teams • Provide strategic guidance on system upgrades and architectural improvements • Stay updated with emerging big data and streaming technologies

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications or a related field followed by eight years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or eight years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained • Proficiency with HDFS, Yarn, Hive, Spark, and Kafka clusters • Experience utilizing ZooKeeper for coordination and synchronization within Hadoop and Kafka clusters • Knowledge of Kerberos, LDAP integration, SSL/TLS, Hadoop KMS, Ranger, Atlas, or custom audit solutions • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for cluster monitoring, metrics visualization, and alerts • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex cluster connectivity, performance, and system failure issues • Experience fine-tuning cluster configurations and optimizing job performance through memory, I/O, and replication parameters • Proficiency in Bash and Python for automation • Telecommuting available from anywhere in the US
