📋 Description

• Design power utility substations using applicable codes and client standards. • Develop general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, elevation views, cable trenches, grounding and conduit drawings, details, bills of materials, and AC/DC power systems. • Design ground grids using applicable codes and industry software. • Design lightning protection and grounding plans. • Complete AC/DC load, bus span, and ampacity calculations. • Create equipment and material specifications for procurement, design scopes, and cost estimates. • Complete conceptual designs and layouts for facility planning studies. • Prepare support documentation for procurement, construction, and operation/maintenance. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and contractors. • Lead and participate in client meetings and job site visits. • Ensure compliance with QA/QC processes and review and approve engineering design packages. • Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior engineers and designers.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. • 15+ years of experience in Substation physical design engineering. • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Excellent document management and organization skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
