📋 Description

• Build and maintain relationships with national maritime authorities, port authorities, and regional bodies across Africa • Anticipate regulatory shifts, trade restrictions, and policy changes, and develop strategies to neutralize operational risks • Partner with Legal and Compliance to align market launches with local labor, customs, trade, spectrum, equipment type-approval, data handling, and maritime safety requirements • Develop scalable market-entry strategies for individual African markets • Establish import, customs, logistics, warehousing, and staging frameworks for SmartMast™ hardware • Identify, vet, and onboard local installers, fabricators, and port-side vendors • Identify, engage, and convert commercial fleet operators, independent vessel owners, port authorities, and maritime organizations • Negotiate and close partnership and space-use agreements securing vessel capacity and long-term maritime relationships • Oversee partner onboarding and operational integration to Quartermaster’s quality, safety, and performance standards • Build durable relationships with fleets, ports, and maritime organizations • Recruit, scale, and mentor a local cross-disciplinary team • Align global product, engineering, legal, and marketing teams with African-market requirements • Serve as the primary feedback loop to leadership on regional dynamics, technical requirements, and localized risks • Drive SmartMast™ unit installation, activation, and reporting across Africa’s coastal waters

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in senior operations, market launch, business development, or public policy roles • Experience ideally within maritime, logistics, or other highly regulated sectors • Deep understanding of political, regulatory, and business diversity across Africa’s coastal regions and maritime economies • Proven track record navigating government relationships, regional maritime bodies, and public-private partnerships across multiple jurisdictions • Demonstrated success closing complex B2B partnerships, joint ventures, or fleet agreements in emerging or frontier markets • Ability to develop a market-entry plan and negotiate stakeholder partnerships • Fluency in English required • Professional proficiency in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Swahili highly preferred
