📋 Description

• Architect, scale, and maintain resilient cloud and virtualized lab environments for global go-to-market teams • Build automated, real-world security scenarios, including simulated malware attacks, exploit paths, and detection workflows • Lead the strategy and execution to consolidate distributed lab requests into a self-service web interface and tooling platform • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to stage, test, and integrate product launches, platform features, and acquired technologies into demonstration frameworks • Own technical readiness, architecture, and live operational stability for security conferences and major technical evaluations • Provide technical leadership and root-cause resolution for infrastructure outages and performance degradations • Establish project execution standards, delegation frameworks, and task tracking mechanisms • Align with Information Security and Platform Engineering stakeholders on security governance and compliance standards • Empower Rapid7’s pre-sales engineers and technical champions with reliable, on-demand lab environments

🎯 Requirements

• Deep technical expertise architecting and operating public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) alongside virtualized infrastructure • Previous sales engineering or solutions engineering experience a plus • Previous experience partnering with pre-sales to enhance the demo experience • Advanced proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and modern CI/CD deployment pipelines • Experience with systems scripting and software development using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or modern web frameworks • Strong background in systems administration and networking across Linux, Unix, and Windows Server platforms • Hands-on familiarity with cybersecurity operations, adversary techniques, and simulating offensive security scenarios within safe, contained architectures • Working knowledge of enterprise security platforms, exposure management solutions, and detection and response workflows • Ability to break complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives into iterative milestones • Ability to establish technical ownership, mentor team members, and drive alignment across distributed teams • Track record navigating ambiguous technical requirements and driving consensus with security governance teams • Ability to translate infrastructure and engineering concepts into actionable technical plans • Embody Rapid7’s core values • Ability to work in the United States or Northern Ireland, based on the selected posting location
