• Review student financial aid eligibility documentation and prepare accurate financial aid award packages for prospective and current students • Implement financial aid policies and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, audit requirements, and organizational policies • Review applications and eligibility documentation to determine financial aid eligibility • Complete verification under federal regulations and resolve quality assurance and comment (C) codes • Communicate with admissions and advising teams to obtain missing student documentation • Maintain minimum weekly award-package completion rates • Keep current in the financial aid field through professional development • Represent the organization accurately and follow through with prospective students, enrolled students, business community, and high school officials • Collaborate with employees, especially admissions and advising team members • Prepare award packages based on submitted documentation • Follow processes that streamline awarding and delivery of aid programs • Review and certify private loan applications weekly • Track financial awards, approvals, payments, and related documentation accurately and promptly • Attend team and Student Financial Aid department meetings • Participate in lean processes and strategic planning activities • Support the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion commitment • Perform other assigned duties • Report directly to the Manager, Financial Aid Processing and Awarding; no direct reports
• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred • Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably within a financial aid, finance counseling or loan processing environment • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands with minimal supervision • Ability to maintain records and files with precision and accuracy • High level of professionalism and telephone etiquette • Excellent customer service skills • High aptitude for math • General knowledge of the higher education industry preferred, but not required • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Working knowledge of financial software, CampusNexus, preferred • Strong command of the English language, both oral and written • Must maintain eligibility to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), including no past or current student-loan default
