📋 Description

• Teach Introduction to Law and the Legal System from a paralegal’s perspective • Communicate with students regarding feedback on performance throughout the course • Be available to students by phone, email, and individual appointments for questions and academic assistance • Respond promptly to the Dean and University staff regarding performance, student concerns, and faculty file/accreditation needs • Use effective teaching strategies and multiple teaching techniques • Create an engaging, student-centered online classroom using synchronous and asynchronous communication and live classroom tools • Connect class-session objectives to course performance objectives • Demonstrate subject-matter mastery and articulate concepts to students • Contribute to curriculum and assessment development and implementation • Support student success and help students achieve course learning objectives • Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as designated or agreed upon with the Dean • Complete required professional development through Rasmussen Educational Units • Report to an Academic Dean • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Teaching experience preferred; minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of study • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers • Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language • Regular access to a computer meeting system requirements: Windows XP or greater and Microsoft Office 2010 • Internet connection • Master's degree in Legal Studies or JD • Paralegal Studies experience preferred • 2–3 years of legal experience preferred • Must be able to provide official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution before teaching • Must be able to provide professional licenses/certifications required for specialized schools before teaching; any license must be active and unencumbered • Rasmussen University follows requirements set by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, and applicable states
