📋 Description

• Configure basic network hardware for deployment using established templates • Activate MDU networks by setting IP addresses and configuring routers, switches, and access points • Monitor network elements and escalate issues beyond basic troubleshooting • Turn up and test EPL, DIA, and Wavelength circuits • Assist with activating and repairing Internet, Managed Wi-Fi, and video services • Provide basic technical support for activation and outage inquiries • Update trouble tickets and document network changes and repairs • Collaborate with field teams on network hardware replacement and repair • Participate in routine deployments and repairs under guidance • Use directed automation scripts and tools for network activations and monitoring • Troubleshoot simple connectivity and network performance issues • Learn new technologies and procedures, including GPON and Dish Smartbox • Support timely completion of WhiteSky Communications installations and network stability

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field, or Associate’s Degree and two years of experience, or four years of experience within a service provider or network engineering team • At least one associate level networking certification: CCNA, CWNA, JNCIA, or Network+ • Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, or MikroTik RouterOS • Knowledge of wired Ethernet LANs, wireless LANs (Wi-Fi), and P2P/P2MP microwave wireless solutions, including Active Ethernet and xPON • Ability to configure and manage IP routers, Ethernet switches, and firewalls • Knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6, CIDR, VLSM, HEX, ARP, DHCPv6, and SLAAC • Knowledge of Layer-2 technologies, Ethernet LAN/MAN, IEEE 802.3xx standards, and 802.1q VLAN tagging • Knowledge of IEEE 802.11 wireless standards and security protocols • Experience or ability to use Python or Ansible for network automation • Above-average problem-solving and critical-thinking skills • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills • Flexible schedule including some after-hours activations • Ability to operate a personal computer and communicate by spoken word • May be required to lift or move 40+ pounds
