📋 Description

• Define the technical vision and long-term roadmap for Feed Relevance, aligning machine learning solutions with Reddit’s product and business objectives • Coach and support the development of the machine learning team • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, set expectations, and communicate the team’s work • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of relevance, discovery, and content distribution systems • Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams on next-generation AI-powered solutions • Maintain high standards for system performance, reliability, efficiency, and responsible AI • Partner with recruiting to attract, interview, and hire machine learning engineers

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and managing high-performing machine learning teams • Hands-on experience with large-scale production machine learning systems • Experience with transformer-based architectures, sequence models, or Large Language Models (LLMs) • Strong understanding of recommender systems, including candidate retrieval, ranking, value modeling, ecosystem dynamics, and measurement strategies • Ability to develop and communicate technical strategy aligned with company objectives • Ability to build scalable, well-designed, and responsible AI solutions • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills • Ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners
