📋 Description

• Make the developer platform easier, faster, and more powerful to build on • Design and build platform features used by developers • Lead major technical initiatives from early exploration through launch • Build systems and tools supporting future developer experiences • Work across backend, infrastructure, client, and full-stack components • Build and evolve core platform services and capabilities powering developer experience • Create capabilities that help external developers build apps on Reddit • Contribute across technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch • Review code, design documents, product specifications, and user experiences • Help shape team strategy and the future direction of the platform • Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and contribute to thoughtful ownership culture • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and other teams • Help create a collaborative team with strong ownership

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience working on platform functionality, developer tools, full-stack products, or app platforms • Experience leading large-scale technical projects from design through delivery • Strong backend or platform engineering experience, with the ability to work across the stack when needed • Familiarity with C++, Java, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or React • Habit of using AI tools in daily work to improve productivity and software quality • Track record of mentoring engineers and raising software engineering practices • Passion for building high-quality software • Entrepreneurial mindset: self-directed, curious, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to turn ideas into action • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment • Ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences • Contributions to open-source projects (bonus) • Experience building Reddit apps with the Devvit platform (bonus)
