📋 Description

• Own Render's social presence, developer community, developer programs, and developer voice • Set strategy across social, community, developer programs, and developer brand • Decide where to hire, where to use agencies or creators, and in what order • Build and lead the team; hire and manage team members • Set goals and determine what to build first, what to outsource, and when to hire • Report on performance to Developer Experience and Marketing leadership and adjust strategy • Run Render's X, LinkedIn, and Reddit accounts initially, including writing posts, replying to developers, and joining relevant conversations • Set channel strategy, posting frequency, and measurement approach • Manage public crises including outages, pricing changes, and criticism with internal stakeholders • Build Render's presence in Discord, Reddit, and other developer communities with the DX team • Run AMAs, livestreams, and community events with DX • Bring developer feedback to Product and Engineering • Build developer programs involving creators, ambassadors, referrals, speaking, and employee advocacy • Define and document Render's developer voice and style • Help engineers, product managers, and marketers communicate consistently with Render's voice • Work with the VP of Marketing and product marketing on external narrative and public launch communications

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years across social, community, developer marketing, or brand, including time building or leading a function at a growing company • Experience hiring and leading a team, or building a function from early stage with a clear plan for who to add and when • Recent hands-on ownership of a company's social channels; ability to show accounts run and copy written • Experience building a developer community or program, with results you can explain • Experience shaping a brand voice, with examples of how it changed the way a company sounded • Fluency with developer audiences • Technical comfort to write accurately about infrastructure, with the judgment to check with an engineer first • Ability to work without a playbook and with little direction across Marketing, Product, and Engineering • Steady judgment when something goes wrong in public • Authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship generally unavailable for new visas, with existing visa transfers subject to business authorization • Nice-to-have: experience at a developer tools, cloud, or infrastructure company • Nice-to-have: experience running a creator, influencer, or ambassador program • Nice-to-have: active personal presence on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, or another platform developers use • Nice-to-have: comfort on camera or behind a mic
