📋 Description

• Report to the Preconstruction Manager. • Evaluate RFP packages to understand scope, schedule, deliverables, and commercial requirements. • Prepare detailed EPC cost estimates for transmission, distribution, substation, generation, and industrial electrical projects. • Support complete proposal submissions and ensure compliance with client requirements and internal standards. • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, procurement, project controls, and other stakeholders on scope, pricing, execution plans, and schedules. • Coordinate and attend site visits to gather field-level data and assess constructability. • Prepare or assist with project execution plans, cost estimates, schedules, environmental, safety, quality, ITP, risk, pricing, alternate proposal, and executive summary documents. • Engage subcontractors and vendors to secure pricing and confirm scope alignment. • Review client commercial terms and coordinate risk assessment and compliance documentation. • Maintain the estimate basis throughout proposal development. • Facilitate internal estimate review meetings and final bid submission reviews. • Conduct estimate hand-off meetings with Project Management after contract award. • Assist with change orders and scope adjustments. • Participate in project close-out and post-mortem reviews. • Support CRM tracking of proposal status, client interactions, and business development metrics. • Submit administrative documentation, including daily timesheets. • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and proposal quality.

🎯 Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, or certification as a Journeyperson Electrician or Power Systems Electrician is a strong asset. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in electric utility or EPC sectors. • Experience with renewable, distribution, and substation projects is an asset. • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents. • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor productivity. • Experience using Hard Dollar or equivalent estimating software. • Experience with digital take-off tools such as Bluebeam. • Ability to develop project schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Proficiency with document management software such as SharePoint. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. • Ability to coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. • Ability to articulate estimate assumptions, risk considerations, and commercial impacts to technical and non-technical audiences. • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines. • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team. • Must complete pre-employment screening, including professional reference checks and a criminal record check.
