📋 Description

• Independently evaluate RFP packages to determine project scope, commercial requirements, risk, and constructability • Prepare detailed, multi-discipline EPC cost estimates for renewable, distribution, substation, generation, and industrial electrical projects • Lead development of full proposal packages, including execution plans, cost breakdowns, schedules, risk registers, optional pricing, ESQ and ITP plans, and executive summaries • Coordinate and conduct site visits for constructability reviews and field-level data gathering • Review drawings, DBMs, specifications, and other technical documents to identify scope gaps or conflicts • Engage subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to secure and validate pricing inputs • Maintain estimate basis records throughout proposal development • Lead internal estimate reviews and provide detailed justifications and breakdowns • Conduct final bid submission reviews with internal signing authorities • Develop strategies for complex proposals, including alternative methods, value engineering, and cost-saving opportunities • Provide peer reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior estimators • Improve estimating tools, templates, and standard practices • Conduct estimate hand-off meetings with Project Management after contract award • Assist with change orders and scope adjustments • Participate in project close-out and post-mortem reviews • Attend estimating team meetings and share updates and lessons learned • Submit administrative documentation, including daily timesheets • Maintain historical cost data and support estimating-team continuous improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred • Certification as a Journeyman Electrician or Power Systems Electrician is a strong asset • Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical estimating, ideally in electric utility or EPC sectors • Proven experience with renewable, distribution, and substation projects and complex, multi-stakeholder proposals • Advanced proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, design packages, and construction specifications • Strong knowledge of construction productivity, equipment capabilities, labor planning, and market rates • Advanced experience with estimating software such as Hard Dollar or equivalent • Experience developing construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and document-control platforms such as SharePoint • Ability to independently perform full takeoffs, pricing validations, and proposal compilation • Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment • Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Comfort engaging subcontractors, vendors, and clients during proposal phases • Ability to articulate estimate assumptions, risks, and commercial impacts • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines • Self-driven and proactive, able to work independently and as part of a larger team • Must complete pre-employment professional reference checks and a criminal record check
