📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and monitor staff development, orientation, and annual competency programs for sterile processing • Create and coordinate education, competencies, and training programs to standardize sterile processing operations • Process supplies, equipment, and instrumentation, including cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of surgical packs • Create and deliver curriculum on sterile processing technique and regulations • Collaborate with perioperative nursing, clinic QA liaisons, and infection preventionists on sterilization and high-level disinfection practices • Design, implement, and monitor educational programs covering decontamination, instrument assembly, and sterilization • Act as liaison to clinics and areas performing sterilization and high-level disinfection • Develop action plans to reduce surgical site infections • Facilitate new-staff orientation and continuing education • Collect and interpret statistical data on educational program progress and success • Participate in infection prevention rounds • Create and standardize skills assessments for instrument and equipment processing • Monitor staff orientation progress and corrective actions • Monitor instrument tracking reports and event reporting systems • Perform root cause analyses and recommend resolutions for deficiencies • Develop training materials and infection prevention monitoring programs • Prepare reports and represent sterile processing practices at monthly infection prevention committee meetings • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Health Care Management and 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital setting required • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted • Master's degree preferred • CCST (Certified Central Service Technician) required within 180 days, or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech) required within 180 days • Knowledge of sterile processing technique and regulations • Experience with decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, and high-level disinfection • Experience developing and delivering education, competency, orientation, and training programs • Experience collecting and interpreting statistical data and quality performance reports • Experience with infection prevention practices, ATP testing, immediate-use sterilization tracking, and surgical site infection reduction • Experience performing root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans • Ability to monitor instrument tracking and event reporting systems
