📋 Description

• Research and draft policy papers, op-eds, blog posts, regulatory comments, and other timely analysis • Address issues including credit card regulations, consumer credit, fintech, property and casualty insurance, capital formation, housing access and affordability, and financial fraud prevention • Brief congressional staff, regulators, legislators, and stakeholders on banking legislation and policy issues • Discuss open banking and other policy topics with national and local media • Conceive, coordinate, and communicate high-quality, credible, and timely research projects • Adapt policy, engagement, and communication strategies to legislative and regulatory developments • Work with Government Affairs and Communications teams to identify and engage target audiences • Participate in conferences, media appearances, policymaker briefings, and other engagements • Report to the Policy Director for Finance and Insurance

🎯 Requirements

• High-level subject matter expertise in financial services legislative and regulatory policy • Fluency in insurance and/or housing policy strongly desired • Top-notch writing and editing skills in short- and long-form products • Exceptional communication skills, including experience speaking with legislators and regulators • Willingness to speak publicly and/or appear on camera; social media or other creative venue engagement is a plus • Ability to provide strategic, research-backed policy insights and synthesize them using legislative analysis, literature review, secondary analysis, descriptive statistics, and case studies • Demonstrated ability to work productively with state and/or federal policymakers and diverse groups • Ability to adapt to new challenges and rapid policy developments • Proven record of achieving results; no particular educational background required • Support for free markets and limited, effective government • U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility as required by the application • Ability to travel to Washington, D.C., state capitals, and nationwide conferences and professional engagements
