📋 Description

• Lead and manage avionics product development and sustainment programs to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance commitments • Serve as the engineering project leader and single engineering point of contact for design and development activities • Oversee hardware, software, and firmware scope throughout all program phases • Provide project management and technical direction during pursuit, bidding, planning, execution, and sustainment • Ensure compliance with program and product requirements reflected in design plans • Manage engineering risks and opportunities across programs • Demonstrate technical expertise in processing platforms and associated technologies • Support development and transition of products into manufacturing • Support cost reduction strategies to maximize DTC+ impacts • Lead customer business activities including bids, proposals, and technical presentations • Collaborate with peer engineers, program management, manufacturing, and customers • Brief executive leadership and provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience, or equivalent experience in the absence of a degree • Successful leadership experience developing ruggedized avionics products • Experience managing technical projects, including schedule and earned value management • Experience with risk management, customer interaction, and executive leadership briefings • Experience with avionics regulatory and certification requirements: TSO, MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C • Demonstrated success balancing system performance and affordability • Strong communication skills and ability to interface from individual contributors to executive leadership • Experience in the defense or aerospace industry preferred • Previous project or program management experience with significant cost and schedule responsibility preferred • Ability to lead large-scale projects, pursuits, and bid activities; provide technical guidance; and motivate multidisciplinary engineering teams preferred • Advanced project management degree or certification, such as PMP, preferred
