• Manage day-to-day procurement activities for an assigned portfolio of materials, components, and approximately 20–30 suppliers • Place and manage purchase orders, including delivery schedules, quantities, pricing, and commercial requirements • Monitor supplier commitments and identify risks to production, customer delivery, and business continuity • Drive recovery actions for past-due and at-risk purchase orders through expediting, rescheduling, and escalation • Serve as the primary procurement contact for assigned suppliers • Analyze demand, inventory, lead times, open orders, and supplier capacity to identify supply gaps • Partner with Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and Program teams to resolve material and supplier issues • Support supplier performance improvement related to delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness • Negotiate delivery commitments, pricing, lead times, and other commercial terms • Support sourcing activities, RFQs, supplier selection, new product introduction, and transitions • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve lead time, optimize inventory, and mitigate supply chain risk • Maintain accurate procurement data and supplier information • Support material shortage and escalation processes with status, recovery plans, and risk assessments for leadership • Ensure compliance with Collins Aerospace policies, contracts, quality standards, and regulatory requirements • Use ERP and supply chain systems, including SAP, to manage purchase orders and material planning • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and develop standardized procurement processes • Support production and customer commitments for Oxygen & Passenger Service Unit Systems • Collaborate across the aerospace supply chain and develop supplier recovery, sourcing, and performance improvement strategies
• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience • 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, materials management, operations, or a related field • Experience with an ERP system • Experience managing suppliers, purchase orders, or material requirements • Experience with shortage management, supplier recovery plans, risk mitigation, and escalation processes • Knowledge and application of Continuous Improvement methodologies and problem-solving techniques • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting • Ability to work independently, take ownership of issues, and drive actions to completion • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract • Preferred: experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment • Preferred: experience with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA • Preferred: ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements • Preferred: experience working within a quality management system and familiarity with AS9100 requirements • Preferred: experience with MRP and production scheduling • Preferred: experience managing complex or critical suppliers • Preferred: knowledge of supplier performance metrics such as OTIF, past-due orders, lead time, quality, and cost • Preferred: experience with strategic sourcing, RFQs, negotiations, long-term agreements, and supplier development • Preferred: APICS/ASCM certification or other supply chain/procurement certification • Preferred: willingness and ability to travel approximately 10–20% of the time
