• Drive operational excellence and process compliance within the supply base through onsite visits and assessments • Resolve significant supplier issues with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership • Coordinate and resolve company- and department-wide risks and obstacles to align manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery schedules with customer needs • Report key suppliers’ progress on operational initiatives at executive reviews with senior-level internal and external leadership • Drive improvement of on-time delivery and quality performance at multiple suppliers • Develop and drive quality improvement plans; coordinate root cause identification and corrective actions • Lead onsite assessments with Buyers, Quality, and Engineering teams • Identify and remove barriers to continuous improvement for suppliers • Evaluate supplier performance and apply sustainable countermeasures and actions • Direct production readiness assessments for New Product Introduction and rate increases, including capacity confirmation • Monitor critical business-wide metrics and coordinate cross-functional work teams • Engage senior management of key suppliers to initiate and sustain major improvement programs • Plan, organize, direct, and report activities relating to supplier performance • Evaluate supplier performance, management, capacity, and production readiness • Assess supplier qualifications, including training and certifications • Develop supplier development plans and collaborate with suppliers to achieve best performance • Spend approximately 80% of time onsite at suppliers and 20% working from a home office
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply chain, Business Management, or related field and 10 years of experience in Operations, Quality, continuous Improvement roles, or related field; or an advanced degree with 7 years of experience • U.S. citizenship is required • Reside within the Midwest, USA area: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin • Must be able to travel up to 80% of your time within the Midwest, USA area • Experience with strong structured project management and problem-solving skills preferred • Ability to initiate, lead and sustain change activities at suppliers preferred • CORE Professional certification preferred • Six-Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt or LEAN certificate preferred • RTX SHA certified assessor preferred • ITC experience preferred • SAP experience using Procurement and Quality transactions preferred
