📋 Description

• Provide first-line communication with patients, referral sources, and clinicians to facilitate ordering and delivery of durable medical equipment, supplies, and services • Process patient information accurately and timely to enhance patient satisfaction and optimize revenue • Receive inquiries and orders by telephone, fax, and email • Gather documentation required by payer requirements, standard operating procedures, and compliance programs • Communicate documentation deficiencies to clinical staff and referral sources • Request missing documentation through email, in-basket messaging, phone calls, or other agreed communication methods • Resolve customer concerns, questions, and complaints regarding sale orders or refer complaints to Equip clinical staff • Anticipate patient needs and complete intake promptly for equipment setup or supply delivery • Create new patient accounts and enter demographic, physician, and insurance information • Obtain medical records, verify insurance, log prior authorizations and prescriptions, and initiate ABNs as needed • Record intake information in the Equip patient account • Notify clinical staff when intake is complete and the patient is ready for setup • Maintain knowledge of billing, documentation, and reimbursement guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, third-party, and contracted payers • Set up patient appointments and make follow-up calls depending on department assignment • Complete tasks with minimum supervision and exercise independent judgment • Perform other duties assigned by management

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Strong knowledge of computer functions • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications • Detail-oriented approach • Excellent documentation skills • Ability to follow through to completion • Basic knowledge of the medical field • Prior experience in home medical equipment helpful
