📋 Description

• Serve as Sardine’s first in-house buyer, supporting purchasing across software and IT, marketing and events, travel and employee onboarding, professional services, and other categories. • Manage vendor relationships and serve as the point of contact for sourcing and closing deals. • Own negotiations, payment terms, ramp, renewal protection, and other commercial terms. • Track contracts and renewals and guide stakeholders through purchasing decisions. • Ensure the company buys appropriate tools and services at the right price. • Own the full vendor lifecycle while balancing business needs, commercial terms, vendor risk, and long-term partnership health. • Coordinate with Finance, IT, Legal, Security, and business leaders. • Drive savings by consolidating redundant tools, reclaiming unused licenses, and comparing market options. • Build procurement processes from the ground up and perform hands-on procurement work.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or commercial negotiations, ideally in-house at a high-growth technology or software company. • Proven track record independently owning vendor negotiations, contract management, and renewal tracking across multiple functions and spend categories. • Experience evaluating vendors competitively and negotiating favorable pricing and terms. • Comfort influencing stakeholders, pushing back when needed, and partnering cross-functionally. • Track record of building the procurement process from the ground up, including intake/PO workflows, contract and renewal tracking, spend visibility, and selecting lightweight tooling such as a spend-management or CLM platform. • Experience coordinating vendor security and data privacy reviews, including SOC 2 and DPAs. • Experience reviewing core contract risk terms, including indemnification, liability caps, and insurance, with Legal/Security. • Excellent executive-level written communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
