📋 Description

• Perform system scoping, screening, and aging management reviews of nuclear plant systems supporting subsequent license renewal applications in accordance with NEI 17-01 and current industry best practices • Collaborate with engineering and regulatory teams to comply with NRC regulations and license extension commitments • Perform engineering program basis documentation, data validation, engineering change tracking, and configuration control • Roadmap required inspections for compliance with NRC regulations and license renewal commitments • Review inspection work orders to ensure license renewal criteria are met • Interact with clients and/or NRC in a technical expert role • Maintain awareness of changes in aging management regulations, approaches, techniques, and operating experience • Foster continuous improvement, technology-forward practices, and cross-functional collaboration • Lead others in using data, automation, AI, and modern tools to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs • Direct automation and process-improvement work, including engineering calculations, technical-document summarization, and design-document generation • Guide when and how AI or agentic AI tools are used while ensuring results are checked • Oversee engineers programming or scripting to automate engineering tasks

🎯 Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program • Academic coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfers • 5 or more years of experience in engineering, licensing engineering, program engineering, design engineering, power plant inspection, or AI, ideally within nuclear or a highly regulated industry • Experience delivering accurate, high quality, technical documentation in a highly regulated environment • Familiarity with engineering documentation systems, nuclear QA/QC protocols, and configuration management • Strong systems thinking skills and ability to balance innovation with compliance, safety, and traceability • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the company does not sponsor work authorization • Preferred: nuclear power plant operations, engineering, or design background • Preferred: experience with NRC, INPO, or DOE regulations • Preferred: prior involvement in license renewal, subsequent license renewal, or nuclear aging management programs • Preferred: familiarity with NUREG-1800, NUREG-1801, NEI 95-10, NUREG-2191, NUREG-2192, NUREG-2221, NEI 17-01, and/or NUREG 1555 • Preferred: participation and/or familiarity with the Nuclear Energy Institutes’ License Renewal Task Force • Ability or willingness to lead engineering problem-solving using data and modern tools such as automation and AI • Ability to oversee automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows, including review of automated outputs • Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel automation oversight valued but not required • Additional computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, or related learning is valued but not required
