📋 Description

• Obtain daily Emergency Department logs and charts for review and reconciliation • Ensure required documents are included in ED charts for accurate coding and billing • Identify high-acuity patient charts based on disposition status or ancillary services • Review provider documentation for coding and billing requirements, with detailed review of high-acuity charts • Identify and document non-billable charts on the ED log • Reconcile patient charts to the ED log and account for all charts • Scan/import and transfer logs and charts within required timeframes • Ensure data quality and integrity of communications and transmissions • Return deficient or incomplete charts to providers and locate missing charts • Resolve outstanding charts within required timeframes • Submit Inpatient Emergency Response logs and charts • Communicate with the Medical Records Assistant Manager • Build positive relationships with providers and hospital personnel • Attend departmental meetings as requested • Obtain completed Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) and required documents • Assist with additional projects and requests from the Medical Records Assistant Manager and approved SG operational teams • Act as liaison between ED providers and hospital HIM Departments • Respond to patient billing inquiries with the appropriate billing company customer service number • Forward business mail, including insurance payments or information requests, to the corporate office • Attend required hospital training classes

• Basic computer and keyboarding skills required • Computer literacy and ability to learn required software applications • Ability to identify technical issues and contact appropriate support personnel • Professional demeanor to interface with management, staff, and providers • Ability to work independently without direct supervision • Excellent record of attendance within pre-arranged schedule • Good organizational skills • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos • Ability to write simple correspondence • Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization • Ability to interpret written and oral instructions • Minimum mathematical skills • Ability to attend required hospital training classes
