• Work efficiently in a fast-paced contact center using inbound and outbound calls, chat, SMS/Text, and email • Manage general inquiries, track and remind patients of appointments, and follow established processes • Provide clinical information to obtain pre-certification from payers, adjusters, and nurse case managers • Collect accurate data to coordinate care and referrals for occupational health and workers’ compensation services • Assist with referral tracking, appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, and insurance billing verification • Assemble referral information to expedite and coordinate care • Support referral navigation and care coordination within client health systems and hospitals • Stay current on state-specific workers’ compensation and occupational health laws and regulations • Check eligibility and obtain authorizations through insurance companies and vendor portals • Track and reconcile referral orders through completion, including return-to-work or maximum medical improvement outcomes • Present clinical notes, orders, and referrals to utilization review organizations and insurance companies • Advocate for patients with carriers to secure timely approval of necessary services • Coordinate care with service providers, workers’ compensation adjusters, and nurse case managers • Track referral outcomes and communicate appointment reminders to patients, employers, adjusters, and nurse case managers • Meet call handling, quality, and attendance performance goals • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or equivalent required • Two years’ patient care coordination or patient scheduling experience or equivalent • One year customer service experience • Ability to quickly learn new processes and workflows • Ability to listen to caller while entering data and documenting information accurately • Strong communication skills, oral and written • Great active listening skills • Patient and empathetic attitude • Excellent interpersonal skills • Computer literacy with attention to detail and ability to learn new software applications and methods of engagement • Problem solving abilities • Excellent customer service skills • Medical Office Administration experience or Medical Assistant Certification preferred • Previous occupational health or workers compensation experience preferred • EMR experience a plus • Bilingual a plus but not required
