• Support procedure scheduling initiatives and advanced clinical tasks focused on patient care • Educate patients on the importance and benefits of maintaining scheduled procedures and follow-up appointments • Provide alternative payment and scheduling solutions to facilitate patient retention • Schedule, reschedule, and manage cancellations and no-shows for patient visits, endoscopy procedures, and related services • Contact patients with canceled procedure appointments to recover cancellations and reschedule them promptly • Coordinate with Financial Counseling on alternate payment options • Coordinate with field operations on alternate scheduling options • Reduce procedure cancellation volumes according to company metrics • Answer calls, emails, voicemails, and patient portal inquiries while providing exceptional customer service • Maintain and update physician schedules and endoscopy block time • Schedule procedures within United Digestive endoscopy suites and coordinate hospital-based procedures when necessary • Schedule ancillary, laboratory, and radiology services; communicate results as appropriate with provider approval • Collect, verify, and document accurate patient information • Process prescription refill requests and communicate pharmacy details to providers for approval • Counsel and educate patients and family members regarding appointments, treatments, procedures, and preparation instructions • Respond to appointment and information requests from patients, referring providers, and internal staff • Complete information requests supporting billing accuracy and timely patient-account payment • Maintain knowledge of drug uses and dosage requirements relevant to patient-care coordination • Remain available in the call queue and meet departmental quality, productivity, and performance standards • Cross-train and perform additional Patient Service Coordinator functions, including phone triage, pre-certification, referrals, document management, and medical-records support • Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality • Participate in staff meetings, marketing activities, customer service training, and professional development • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
• High School Diploma or GED required • Must be computer literate • Demonstrated ability to operate healthcare information systems • Demonstrated ability to operate multiple Microsoft Office applications • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Travel as needed for business requirements • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience, including call center, eCW, specialty clinic, and/or gastroenterology experience preferred • Knowledge of clinical workflows, scheduling, and patient care coordination preferred • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred • Bilingual skills strongly preferred • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
