📋 Description

• Obtain and verify information necessary to underwrite new business cases • Provide customer service and support to agents and underwriters by telephone and email • Respond to questions, obtain underwriting requirements, follow up on pending offers, compile documents and communicate with reinsurers • Update claims and/or underwriting workflow systems and verify input data accuracy • Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions • Review forms and policy documents for completeness, approval and release • Set up and process exam-only and informal inquiry files • Obtain authorizations, research physicians, affiliates and addresses, order reports, receive APS and physician replies, and arrange reimbursements • Prepare and process reinstatement, exchange, full-term conversion and reissue paperwork • Issue annuity contracts and life policies; prepare amendments and pay initial premiums • Process incoming mail, faxes, medical releases, inactive cases and policies not taken • Maintain knowledge of underwriting programs, replacement procedures, claims, new business, company policies and state regulations • For Case Manager: build and maintain vendor relationships, reconcile vendor bills, process complex term conversions, assist with initial claims forms and reports, mentor coworkers and provide manager feedback • Support business growth and process policies

🎯 Requirements

• 1-2 years of related experience required • Experience in Customer Service required • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required • Experience in a life insurance or closely related setting required for Case Manager • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent data entry skills • Ability to learn and follow applicable regulations and company procedures • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly • Ability to pay close attention to detail • Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude by taking initiative, being enthusiastic, flexible and dependable • High School Diploma or equivalent required for Associate Case Manager • Associate degree in business or related field required for Case Manager • Visa sponsorship is not available • Relocation assistance is not available • Must be based in the Greater Houston or Greater Binghamton area • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred • Life insurance experience preferred • Industry recognized certifications preferred
