📋 Description

• Analyze and process complex or technically difficult professional liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine claim exposure • Manage claims through well-developed action plans to timely and appropriate resolution • Conduct or assign full investigations and provide investigation reports for new events, claims, and legal actions • Negotiate claim settlements up to designated authority level • Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves and monitor reserve adequacy throughout the claim life • Recommend settlement strategies and bring structured settlement proposals as necessary • Coordinate legal defense by assigning attorneys, coordinating investigation support, reviewing attorney invoices, and monitoring counsel for client-guideline compliance • Use cost containment techniques and strategic vendor partnerships to reduce claim costs for clients • Represent the company in depositions, mediations, and trial monitoring as needed • Communicate claim activity and processing with clients and maintain professional client relationships • Ensure claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Five (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required • Written and oral communication skills • Presentation skills • PC literacy including Microsoft Office Products • Strong negotiation skills • Ability to work in a team environment • Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred • Licenses as required • Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred • Computer keyboarding • Hearing, vision and talking • Clear and conceptual thinking ability • Excellent judgement and discretion • Ability to meet deadlines
