• Supervise the operation of multiple teams of workers compensation examiners and technical staff • Monitor colleagues' workloads, provide training, and monitor individual claim activities • Provide technical and jurisdictional direction on examiner reports and claims adjudication • Maintain a diary on team claims, including complex or high-exposure claims • Analyze and process complex or technically difficult general liability claims • Investigate and gather information to determine claim exposure • Manage claims through action plans to timely and appropriate resolution • Manage litigation processes and ensure timely, cost-effective claims resolution • Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation or litigation management • Lead team meetings and assign accountability for follow-up items • Gather compliance and claims-processing information for team meetings • Assist with interviews of adjusters and clerical staff and provide feedback to the hiring manager • Support monthly reviews of adjuster workloads, identify trends, and suggest adjustments • Administer company personnel policies and follow staffing and training standards • Interview, hire, establish performance development plans, and conduct performance discussions • Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance
• 5 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required • High School Diploma or GED required • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred • Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred • CA or NV jurisdiction knowledge/licensing • Supervisory knowledge and experience in workers compensation • Ability to analyze and process complex or technically difficult claims • Clear and conceptual thinking ability • Excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion • Ability to handle work-related stress and multiple priorities simultaneously • Ability to meet deadlines • Computer keyboarding ability • Hearing, vision, and talking abilities
