📋 Description

• Define research strategies for complex, ambiguous product and customer problems. • Partner with Product and Design to identify learning needs before teams commit to a direction. • Frame research questions, hypotheses, participant profiles, methods, timelines, and decision criteria. • Select and combine qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, contextual inquiry, workflow observation, ethnographic research, concept testing, usability testing, surveys, product behavior data, and competitive research. • Recruit and engage diverse participants, including customers, prospects, operators, engineers, managers, executives, account executives, and internal subject-matter experts. • Conduct remote and in-person research sessions with customers and users in industrial and technical environments. • Synthesize evidence to identify patterns, unmet needs, root causes, opportunities, and tradeoffs. • Produce research readouts explaining findings, implications, and recommended decisions. • Embed research throughout product discovery and the product development lifecycle. • Influence product strategy, roadmaps, prioritization, terminology, information architecture, workflow design, and release readiness. • Translate customer evidence into problem statements, requirements, acceptance criteria, and testable hypotheses. • Validate concepts, low-fidelity ideas, prototypes, and evolving product experiences. • Continue post-launch learning through usability feedback, customer conversations, product behavior, and other signals. • Balance user needs with business goals, technical constraints, timelines, accessibility, security, permissions, and enterprise-software realities. • Develop understanding of how users analyze data, monitor assets and processes, investigate problems, create and share findings, and collaborate. • Research workflows spanning multiple personas, roles, systems, and expertise levels. • Apply human-centered research to data-heavy, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled experiences. • Evaluate AI-powered experiences for trustworthiness, usefulness, explainability, controllability, and contextual appropriateness. • Establish standards for research planning, recruiting, moderation, synthesis, documentation, and communication. • Maintain an organized body of customer evidence for product decisions. • Improve research-capacity prioritization across product areas and customer needs. • Mentor researchers and help cross-functional teams build sound research habits. • Share methods, findings, patterns, and customer insights to create alignment and momentum. • Identify responsible opportunities for tools and automation while preserving human judgment and research quality. • Contribute to a collaborative UX culture through critique, coaching, thoughtful disagreement, and continuous improvement.

🎯 Requirements

• Six or more years of professional experience in UX research, user research, human factors, or a related discipline, or equivalent depth of experience. • Demonstrated experience leading research for complex products, workflows, or services with significant ambiguity. • Strong qualitative research skills, including interviewing, contextual inquiry, usability testing, concept testing, moderation, and synthesis. • Ability to use quantitative research, product behavior data, surveys, and analytics. • Experience partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering from discovery through delivery and post-launch learning. • Experience influencing product strategy, roadmap decisions, or prioritization through research and customer evidence. • Strong communication skills for making complex findings clear, concise, compelling, and actionable. • Judgment regarding research quality, participant ethics, confidentiality, accessibility, and appropriate use of customer information. • Experience mentoring others, improving team practices, or creating leverage beyond individual studies. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and create structure in ambiguous situations. • Helpful experience in B2B, SaaS, enterprise software, industrial technology, manufacturing, energy, chemicals, life sciences, or technically complex domains. • Helpful experience with data analytics, process analytics, dashboards, visualization, monitoring, or data-heavy products. • Helpful experience researching multi-user workflows, role-based experiences, permissions, governance, or cross-team collaboration. • Helpful experience researching AI or machine-learning-enabled products. • Helpful experience with mixed methods, experimentation, longitudinal research, or product analytics. • Helpful experience establishing research repositories, participant programs, or customer advisory practices. • Formal education in psychology, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, human factors, sociology, anthropology, or a related field is helpful; equivalent practical experience is welcome. • Must be authorized to work in the country in which you reside. • Seeq does not sponsor US F1 or H-1B work visas.
