📋 Description

• Manage and defend asbestos and toxic tort litigation in jurisdictions throughout the country • Work as local counsel and national counsel on complex asbestos matters • Draft pleadings, discovery responses, dispositive motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings • Take and defend fact and expert depositions • Develop case strategy and manage discovery • Communicate directly with clients, insurers, co-counsel, and opposing counsel • Attend court conferences, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations • Assist Segal McCambridge’s national trial team with trial strategy, preparation, and execution • Participate in trials and other significant litigation proceedings as appropriate • Collaborate with experienced attorneys across Segal McCambridge’s national practice

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction • Asbestos defense experience required • 4+ years of litigation experience preferred, although candidates with strong relevant experience will be considered • Experience with toxic tort, product liability, premises liability, or other complex litigation is highly desirable • Demonstrated experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and case management • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a national team • Excellent organization, judgment, and communication skills • A proactive, client-focused approach and a genuine interest in complex litigation and trial work • Additional state bar admissions are a plus, particularly in jurisdictions where Segal McCambridge handles significant asbestos litigation
