📋 Description

• Support electronic machine controls for new product development in welding machines, portable machine tools, and high-pressure testing applications • Design, test, and validate embedded-system solutions with product development team members • Work in a cross-functional product development team to define, design, document, and validate product features and functionality • Develop and implement embedded software from concept to final execution, focusing on product requirements • Evolve products throughout their life cycle by developing software releases, addressing customer issues, and improving product performance • Search for replacement components when original components become obsolete • Provide electrical and electronics design for new products • Work with other departments from initial product concept through finished product • Define and support PCB designs and layouts • Resolve customer field performance issues, including electrical and electronics issues • Resolve customer software performance issues related to embedded-system controls • Develop custom product solutions using existing embedded-system designs • Develop modular designs supporting future enhancements and capabilities • Travel to customer sites and support customer training and applications in demanding environments • Perform other duties assigned by management

🎯 Requirements

• BSEE degree or equivalent degree in Math/Sciences • Extensive proficiency in software engineering • MSEE / PhD preferred • Ten to fifteen years’ experience in software design, with C++ or Python preferred, in a manufacturing environment • Ten to fifteen years’ experience in digital and analog circuitry design • Familiarity with working in a project-oriented environment and taking a project from concept to finished product • Proficient in Altium and all Microsoft Office applications • Detail oriented with a focus on meeting deliverables • Project management experience and understanding of critical path deliverables • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, crouching, bending, reaching, and handling materials • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, with assistance available • Ability to operate and maneuver heavy components with material handling devices • Ability to work in hazardous, industrial, construction, high-voltage, confined-space, underground, high-elevation, and extreme working environments • Ability to travel by airplane and/or vehicle to customer work sites • Ability to use required PPE, including steel toe boots, hardhat, and safety glasses
