📋 Description

• Design radiation oncology treatment plans using computer and/or manual computation with optimal beam geometry. • Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures using CT, MRI, PET, and other image data sets. • Create and transfer reference images and localization markers, including DRRs and CBCTs, for portal verification and treatment delivery. • Supervise, perform, or assist with simulations and tumor localization using CT, MRI, and PET. • Plan and implement fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam-modifying devices. • Plan and implement production of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices. • Advise radiation therapists on implementation of treatment plans and treatment or imaging parameters. • Calculate prescribed dose delivery, document information in patient records, and verify mathematical accuracy. • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and the AOS Dosimetry team.

🎯 Requirements

• Board Certified by the MDCB. • Bachelor’s degree preferred. • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation safety. • Expertise in radiation oncology and medical physics for developing optimal treatment plans. • Knowledge of health care informatics, including data acquisition, storage, retrieval, clinical guidelines, medical terminology, and information and communication systems. • Proficiency in image registration across CT, MRI, and PET data sets. • Good communication and interpersonal skills for exchanging information with patients, families, radiation oncology treatment teams, and outside entities. • Must meet applicable Vendor Credentialing requirements for client-site access. • May need to provide valid identification, undergo criminal background checks and drug screens, complete required immunizations and annual TB testing, and complete healthcare training. • Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology under United States export control law.
